About Me:
My name is Kaeta Seimer and I am an Elementary Education major with a Secondary Academic Concentration in the Arts. I was born and raised in Asheville, North Carolina and hope to begin my teaching career in my hometown after I graduate in the Spring of 2018. Right now, I picture myself teaching second grade, but I would be thrilled to teach any of the primary grades! Since the Spring of 2015, I have worked at the YMCA of WNC, which I absolutely love. Since beginning my work at the YMCA, I have been a a Youth Development Mentor, but will be working as the Site Director of a day camp this summer! Working at the Y as an after school group leader and Summer Day Camp counselor has allowed me to get the feeling for having my own group of kids and has made me that much more excited to have my own classroom one day. When I'm not at school or at work, I enjoy spending time with my brother, Charlie, who is eight years old, and has also been a big inspiration for me to go into education. I also love to go to the movies, read, spend time with my boyfriend, Avatar, and travel.
I am so excited to learn more about STEAM Ed. and grow as an educator this semester!
